Perched in the high hills of Blagny above Meursault and Puligny Montrachet, Comtesse de Cherisey is a steadfast domaine with a history of pure and intensely mineral whites that continue to reveal some of the best kept secrets of the Cote d’Or. Once tended to by the Cistercian monks of Mezieres in the 14th century, Hélène Martelet-de-Chérisey and Laurent Martelet are the current vignerons working rigorously to preserve the heritage and tradition of this ancient terroir.
The vineyards are hand-harvested from across 9 hectares, including a small collection of limestone-laden premier cru sites with vines averaging over 60 years of age. From the rich and layered power of their La Genelotte monopole of MeursaultBlagny, to racy expressions of the Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru La Garenne, the wondrous whites of Comtesse de Cherisey reveal a true sense of purity and value.
